Tallahassee, FL — After Friday's closing of the Florida legislature's regular session, several bills died without being passed.

Among them was a bill that would ban marriage among first cousins in the state.

We spoke to Senate President Ben Albritton about the failed measure.

"We got a lot of feedback about this bill; it would've banned marrying your first cousin, but a lot of people felt it would be disrespectful to their families to allow them to fuck their cousin but ban them from marrying them. So we just have to go back to the drawing board."
