Jacksonville, FL— With just over a month until Christmas, Jacksonville Christmas chair Raul Arias has stepped down from his position after the Duval Tribune revealed that he's on Santa's naughty list.
Council President Kevin Carrico issued the following statement:
"I have accepted Councilman Arias' resignation from the committee and would like to thank him for his service. His leadership overseeing the overhaul of the city's milk and cookie program will allow Santa to deliver more and heavier presents to all the good boys and girls of Jacksonville this year; however, there are concerns that the delivery of coal he will be receiving this year will offset those gains. The role will now be filled by Councilman Chris Miller, who briefly directed Santa tracking operations at NORAD."
We reached out to councilman Arias for comments regarding his resignation, however he was reportedly en route to Whoville to return a 40-ton sack of presents and decorations before Christmas.
