Jacksonville — Local government leaders from around the nation have expressed their amazement at Jacksonville's commitment to promoting civic engagement.
For decades, Jacksonville's various councils, boards, and commissions have been lodestars in ensuring that all substantive meetings are held squarely between 9AM and 5PM so that the overwhelming majority of taxpayers are working while they discuss important policy matters and take public input.
We interviewed former Council Presidents Matt Carlucci and Terrance Freeman to get their perspectives, but they still haven't finished talking.
