Diamond and Peluso schedules converge exactly at 11:59PM on New Year's Eve. Midnight kiss "simply administrative."

Jacksonville, FL — Journalists with the Duval Tribune have uncovered an abnormal scheduling convergence between councilmen Jimmy Peluso and Rory Diamond that places both of them in the same place exactly at 11:59PM tonight.
While most council members have their schedules blocked off through the New Year, it appears that the two millennial councilmen both have scheduled a series of meetings gradually drawing them from their respective sides of the St. Johns River to a mutual location—The St. Johns Town Center—exactly at 11:59PM.
When asked about the coincidence, Councilman Peluso had this to say:
"I work hard for my constituents, and sometimes that means working on holidays, and even at night. The fact that I will be at the same location as another council member exactly 1 minute before midnight on the one night of the year where midnight means you kiss the nearest person to you doesn't mean anything."
Councilman Diamond said:
"I work hard alright, yeah it's New Year's Eve, but that doesn't mean I'm not obligated to meet the needs of the people of Jacksonville. If that happens to place me in the same place at the same time as some leftist lunatic from the other side of town, that's fine. If the clock strikes midnight and we have to kiss for administrative convenience, I'll do what I have to do, but I won't be subjected to this line of questioning any longer."
Editorial note: our reporters never asked about a kiss.
