EDITORIAL: After numerous attempts to interview Congressman Bean, we are beginning to question the wisdom of electing legumes.

Jacksonville, FL — As the lead editor of the Duval Tribune, I've worked with the most diverse group of politicians imaginable, however, over the past few years, my team and I's attempts to interview Congressman Bean have been nothing short of a disaster.

I'm not one to judge someone based on the color (or fiber content) of their skin; but when a politician can not move or answer questions on their own, has to have aides frequently trim sprouts emerging from their hilum, and has a 3-year shelf life, I have to call into question the wisdom of voters who continue to elect a legume to office.

Perhaps I'll end up on the wrong side of history for saying this, but I'm beginning to think that elected offices should be filled exclusively by sentient creatures, at a minimum.
