Jacksonville, FL — As the costs of gas and living continue to climb, one local Church has offered churchgoers some much needed relief.
First Baptist Church of Jacksonville announced that their attendance numbers nearly doubled after offering a one-time deal reducing tithes from 10% to 5% for any person bringing their mother to church this Mother's Day.
"I saw the coupon in the mail this week and just knew I had to show up, my main church never offers any kind of specials. With the $50 I saved on tithes this week, I'm actually able to take my mom to Chow's buffet after Church instead of having to try and cook something." Said one enthusiastic attendee.
"We realized that a lot of our members and guests are sort of caught between a rock and a hard place with the cost of gas and their tithes right now; even though it isn't quite Easter anymore, I decided it'd be a good idea to move that rock away." Said Pastor Heath Lambert.
