Councilman (Dr.) Rahman Johnson laments cashier being unable to provide change for a PhD

Jacksonville, FL — City Councilman Dr. Rahman Johnson, PhD — the lone academic on the city council — says he’s disappointed after a bad experience at a local CVS:
"Well, I was attempting to engage in a simple transaction, the cashier told me my total and I pulled out my PhD — because I recognize the intrinsic (and monetary) value of education — however, when I asked if she could break a PhD, she stared at me and told me that all they had in the register were associate degrees and high school diplomas. I had to leave CVS without my orthopedic insoles. Needless to say, I won't be back."
