Jacksonville Mayor hosts budget town halls, most participants "just need $3 to get the bus home."

Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan is hosting a series of town halls to get community input on the City's budget, and there seems to be consensus among attendees that the best way to spend the money is to give them $3 to catch the bus.

Resident Sheila Anderson said "Mayor, I'm a bit disappointed in this budget. I asked you for $3.50 so I could get a loosie from the Shell downtown and catch the bus to pick my kids up, you committed to me that you would make sure this issue was funded, but I see nary a line item for it. Care to explain yourself?"

"Thank you for hosting these meetings, Mayor Deegan. I appreciate the work your team has done on this year's budget, however I noticed that you failed to appropriate $4.25 in order for me to get a pack of peanut M&Ms and catch the bus home." Said local resident Anthony Gancarski.

The Mayor let out a sigh after the speaker finished and responded "bring me my purse."
