JEA to raise water, electric rates due to "what the fuck are you gonna do about it?"

Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville's city-owned utility company has unanimously voted to raise water and electric rates for customers starting this year.

The utility's CEO Vickie Cavey has stated "because you aren't going to do shit about it" when asked to justify the increase.

We spoke with MG Orender—chair of the utility's board of directors—after the vote and asked about potential impacts on local families, his response was "I hate all of you and I pray we get an opportunity to double rates, as a matter of fact. Fuck off."
He then spat on us and walked away.
