Local cook still falling for "add bay leaf" joke in recipes.
"Oh I love using bay leaves"

Jacksonville, FL— A running gag amongst chefs when writing recipes has been lost on local cook Janet Fraiser, who has been adding the unpleasantly textured, useless ingredient to her cooking for 20 years.
Our reporters spoke to the poor soul earlier today:
"Oh I love using bay leaves, especially in my pasta dishes, it really takes them to the next level" said the clueless Fraiser.
We spoke to several chefs with published cookbooks, all of whom assumed that reasonable people knew that a direction saying to add a stupid leaf to the dish was literally just a bit to indicate that the recipe was very long.
"I've written hundreds of recipes where I added the joke about the bay leaf, I had no idea anyone was actually putting that crap in their food. Are people ACTUALLY putting the kitchen sink in their food too?" Said an alarmed Michelin star chef who wished to remain anonymous.
