Jacksonville, FL — With five months until primary elections begin in Duval County, Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland has begun the 2026 SOE Combine.
"We have to make sure we're on our A-game this year, we need the absolute best on our side. In 2024, St. Johns County had their results tabulated 17 minutes before we did, we can't afford that kind of sloppiness this season." Said Holland.
The combine was intense, featuring events like tabulation machine error resolution, timed hand tabulation, and ballot accuracy verification.
"WHY ARE YOU TABULATING A PROVISIONAL BALLOT RIGHT NOW?" Shouted Holland at an unlucky participant "YOU'RE CUT, TAKE THAT CRAP DOWN TO BROWARD."
This year's combine brought our some of the nation's best poll workers, including:
Norma Rodriguez — Monroe County, FL; holds the state record for fastest tabulation machine error resolution.
Derrick Smith — Oakland County, MI; lead his office to the nation's fastest absentee ballot tabulation in 2016.
Pamela Kingsley — Story County, IA; completed the nation's fastest hand recount in the 2024 general election.
